These are organizations I want to recommend because they are a special part of our island community. Try them. I know you, too, will like them. And, I'll add more from time to time.
This little record store with vinyl, toys and other interesting stuff is one of my favorite places on our island. Owned by Isaac Slade from the band The Fray, it's a happy place to hang out. Nice people. Cool things for sale. And, I have a part time job there helping to curate Legos for resell.

We are so fortunate to have a first run movie theatre in our community. Since 1947, in fact! The show the latest flicks and have one of the oldest popcorn machines in the nation. Don't stream. Go to the movies. It's more fun to see a film with a building full of people.

Every small town has a hamburger place and Vashon has one, too. Island Queen, owned by Jennifer Harvey (our queen of great food), is on the main drag and is a modern version of the traditional favorite. It's right next door to the movie theatre so it's easy to find.
